Susan Martinez is a pianist, freelance accompanist, and piano teacher. She grew up in the Midwest and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Olaf College (Minnesota) in 1982. After college, she accepted a teaching position at the Anchorage School of Music in Anchorage, Alaska. While she was there she also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alaska. Susan became a member of MTNA in 1979 and holds permanent national certification. She has served as pianist for Gilbert Presbyterian Church (Gilbert, AZ) since 1989. Susan is extremely grateful for our national, state, and local associations. EVMTA has provided her and her students with countless opportunities! Her goal in teaching her piano students is to make them independent musicians who can enjoy playing throughout their entire life. Susan maintains a private studio in Chandler, Arizona, where she resides with her husband David. They enjoy spending time with their two adult children Scott and Samantha.
