Marcia Havlovic is a classically trained pianist, accompanist, and long-time piano teacher. Originally from Ontario, Canada, Marcia began playing piano at the age of six and was trained in the Royal Conservatory of Music program through the University of Toronto. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a major in Music from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI, where she also discovered her passion for teaching after being inspired by her piano professor. While at university, she participated in voice lessons, percussion classes, and sang in the premier choral group, “Capella,” touring England, Scotland, and the Netherlands, and performing in historic venues such as Westminster Abbey and St. Giles’ Cathedral.

After university, Marcia moved to Florida, where she taught elementary school for three years and established a private piano studio. In 2002, she relocated to Arizona to serve as the full-time choral, instrumental, and general music teacher at Phoenix Christian Grade School, while also pursuing her Master’s in Music Education at Arizona State University. She later moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, where she spent five years as a middle school band director before returning to Arizona with her family in 2014.

Marcia has been teaching private piano lessons for over 30 years and working as a music educator for over 20 years. Her diverse background in elementary and music education enables her to effectively teach a wide variety of students, including those with special needs, a demographic she is deeply passionate about supporting.

Marcia regularly encourages her students to participate in East Valley Music Teachers Association (EVMTA) events. She has previously served as the Fall Recital Chair and the ASP Advanced Repertoire Chair, and most recently completed a five-year tenure as the Ensemble Chairman.

Marcia resides in Gilbert, AZ, with her husband, Ron, and their three sons, Owen, Brennan, and Caleb.
