Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, with it, the unavailability of venues and concern for the well-being of students, teachers, and committee members, ASMTA’s Arizona Study Program (ASP) will not be held as an “in-person” evaluation for 2020-2021. The good news is, ASP Evaluations will be held by way of pre-recorded YouTube videos.
This “virtual” type of ASP Evaluation will be very similar to the Level 12A ASP YouTube Evaluations that were held this past spring 2020 for 76 students, but instead, will be for any level and category of student. As the Committee works hard to adapt our paper and in-person methods to a “virtual” evaluation, we are having to change many procedures, deadlines, and forms, all of which may delay some of the timelines to which many of you may have been accustomed. Arizona Study Program standards and requirements are not changing.
At this point, we can tell you the following and will keep you informed of new information as we establish it:
- September 15 – Forms and ASP Website Revised
- October 1-15 (TBD) – ASP Committee Zoom Training Workshop
- October 31 – ASP Virtual Evaluations Teacher Training Video Available
- Nov 1 to Dec 1 – Open Early Enrollment to Closing of Early Enrollment
- February 15 – Late Enrollment Deadline; Student Program Forms Due
- March 1 – McCurnin Teacher Enrichment and Certification Grant Applications Due
- May 1 – Evaluation YouTube Videos Due
- May 28 – Evaluation Results (mailed to teachers)
General Information, Parent Information, Volunteer Information, Enrollment, Student Program, and Materials Order Forms (all in Packet 1) will be made available no later than September 15. NOTE: Please wait for further instructions before enrolling or recording/videotaping technique and/or performances.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we, your Arizona Study Program Committee, work feverishly to continue to provide this wonderful program to you and your students.
If you have questions, please contact your local ASP chairpersons.
