La musique française

Bonjour! This year, in honor of Cesar Franck’s 200th Birthday, we celebrate French music!
Any original composition by a French composer from any musical era is eligible for this concert. Some suggestions of possible composers, but not limited to, are: Berlioz, Boulez, Boulanger, Chailley, Chaminade, Couperin, Chabrier, Debussy, Dukas, Faure, Franck, Messiaen, Milhaud, Poulenc, Rameau, Ravel, Roussel, Saint-Saens, Satie, Schmitt, Streabbog, Tailleferre, etc. French-style inspired compositions are welcome as well, for example, Old French Tale by Tchaikovsky, Les Petites Impressions by Jennifer Linn, and French Suites by Bach.
There is a $15.00 registration fee per student.
The recital hall at Hammer & Strings Conservatory is reserved from 8AM to 3:30PM. There may be up to 4 different concerts scheduled in this time frame depending on the number of students entered. Teachers can enter as many students as they wish. Each performer has a time limit of 6 minutes. All solo performances must be done from memory. All performers are required to stay for the entire duration of their concert time to observe and support their peers. Due to liability reasons, a parent or a legal guardian must accompany students under the age of 16.
We will be hosting our annual Toy Drive at this event. Please spread the word and share the holiday festivities. Bring any new, unopened, and unwrapped toy or a new book, or a gift card for us to donate. All gifts will go to Banner Desert Children’s Hospital.
